Handwoven shawl
Commission based made to order shawl, handwoven with handspun wool dyed with natural plant based dyes. I use different textures and naturally toned colours to create unique pieces that sing the stories of landscape, connecting the wearer through the threads to the elemental and mythic worlds. I often intuit visions or journeys with elements as I weave and I write these to send with the cloth.
It is a slow process of making and is a beautiful shroud to mark a rite of passage or transition, holding the wearer through life changes with cloth woven with love, care and deeper intention.
The whole process takes 1-2 months, depending on how much dyed wool is needed as this takes longer and also if I need to spin more to replenish stock.
